Summer Means More Water For Your Flock!

Does your chickens have... Diarrhea?
Well then, they just might be over heating.
To keep your flock cool and happy,
make sure and change out your girlies water at least twice a day in the summer.
It would even hurt to do it three times
in a day, especially if you live in a warm region.
It would even be wise to have two waterers if your flock count is ten birds and over.
Most water founts let you know how many birds it accommodates, but it is always a good idea to have fresh, cool water out for your girls. I have noticed that they become especially thirsty after they've layed an egg.
You want to make sure a water fount is close by the nesting boxes, for your poor parched ladies.
Here are a couple of water founts that, I personally have tried...

These fountains help keep water cool on hot days when left in the shade.
You will still want to change out the water regularly. You may also want to add some electrolytes to the water to help with the runs.

This waterer seems to be my hens' favorite.(It also is my "un-favorite" one to have to fill up... My personal opinion). But, I guess what's good for the hen is good for her keeper.
Be sure to keep this one in the shade, it tends to get pretty warm.
Try adding ice in it before you put it out.
